What I collect and why
- Newsletter: your email and chosen topics, so I can send you a letter when there’s a new scrap.
- Comments: your Google name, email and avatar, to show your comment and tell you when it’s approved.
- Contact form: what you write, so I can read it and reply.
- Spam protection: your IP address, scrambled one-way so it can’t be read back.
Where it’s stored
Data is stored on cloud infrastructure and encrypted in transit. Emails are sent through an email service provider. I don’t sell or share data with advertisers.
How long I keep it
- Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe.
- Comments: until you delete the comment or your comment account.
- Contact messages: until I’ve replied and you no longer need them kept.
- Hashed IP: kept only briefly to block spam.
Cancel or delete your data
Unsubscribe with one click at the bottom of every letter. To delete a comment or any other data, message me through the contact page; I’ll delete it for you.
Cookies
Only a sign-in cookie (when you sign in to comment) and your light/dark theme choice. No advertising or tracking cookies.
